Another alternative to solving Sudoku puzzles online, is to find places where you can acquire free printable Sudoku puzzles. Finding just a couple of good sources will make a great complement to solving the puzzles you find in the newspapers.

So, where do you find these Sudokus that you are freely allowed to print out yourself. Have you tried the Internet already? As you probably know, there are quite many sites that allow you to play Sudoku online, but there are also quite a few that can provide you with puzzles that you can print out. This is good since you can then take the Sudoku with you, and it will be more convenient to solve it over several sessions.

One quick way to find yourself some printable Sudokus, is to simply enter "free printable sudokus" in your favourite search engine, such as Google or Yahoo. It may be a good idea to put the search term within double quotes like I did above. This tells the search engine to look for pages containing exactly these words.

Once you have found some suitable puzzles, you will usually have the option to either print them directly from your browser, or download them to your computer first. Once printed, you have just treated yourself to hours of leisure, excitement and fun - all for free. Naturally, if there are terms and conditions on how these freely available Sudoku puzzles may be used, you must naturally respect these. For example, one would imagine that most won't allow you to put the Sudokus in book format, claim you created them and sell them.

A few variations to try with your printable Sudoku

Many people new to this game, somehow assume that Sudoku puzzle are very difficult, because just seeing another person filling one of these out doesn't seem to make a whole lot of sense. However, nothing could be further from the truth! Once you started to play it, you will realize that it Sudoku isn't any more or less difficult than a traditional crossword puzzle. It's a little but different - that's all.

Another misconception is that you need to be an expert in math for you to complete the printable Sudoku puzzle. Suprisingly enough, math has nothing to do with sudoku. What very puzzle on the other hand DO require, is for you to be very patient. Depending on the difficulty of the puzzle, it can take quite a while to solve it. So you will need to stay focused in order to succeed.

Many people have discovered that Sudoku is a great way to awaken the mind every morning or even during a short coffee break. In these scenarios the printable Sudoku is the ideal solution. It is just as portable as any handheld, electronic device and you can obtain them at a very marginal cost.

Bringing a few Sudokus along may just save you from a few rounds of "are we there yet". If you are travelling by plane, I would like to see the cabin crew that tells you to "please turn of your printable Sudoku", as opposed to their attitude against many electronic devices.
